Comment:
First in what will be a 2 (or possibly 3) volume series. This was conceived and mixed by my wife, Katherine, whose knowledge of Irish music dwarfs my own. It was inspired by a fantastic Chieftains concert just two nights ago, and in preparation for the greatest holiday this side of Spring. More to come, and best peaceful wishes to all of you, Irish, Scottish, or otherwise. And many thanks to Gerry for the Dubliners.Feedback:
This looks fantastic, being half-Irish myself, I grew up listening to Irish music. Later in life I discovered some of my own, much of which is represented here. This looks like a great St. Paddy's day mix (he was my dad's patron saint too!).
Irish Descendents? What's that off of, Milo Gets Drunk? Just kidding, I'd raise a Guiness to this for sure, though I've got no green in my blood. Love that Pouges take on Man You Don't Meet Everyday. My only beef is, no Thin Lizzy! Their version of Whiskey In The Jar beats 'em all.
dammit, lo-fi jr. beat me to the irish descendents joke. oh well. regardless, this is a really great mix!
very cool, though i don't know some o' this. may your shamrock always be green!
This, my dear Mr. Lally, gets my Irish up. Keep 'em coming with more Maura please.
love it, love it, love it.
With a name like Sean Lally, it's difficult to escape your roots. I have the same problem with my name. Your welcome for the Dubliners stuff. A great mix by the way.
AH Yes! St. Paddy's day. My Irish relations were protestants from the North but who cares lets have some stout.
She done good! (I'm with Lo-fi, where's "the Black Rose"?)
cheers!!!
