Comment:
Perhaps not "Canterbury" by the strictest criteria but in most cases there's a direct link and in those cases without such a link, I think the overall 'bury vibe is there to be found.S1T1-3: Robert Wyatt provides backing vocals on all these. S1T4: Guitar by Andy Summers who was briefly in the Softs & later, Kevin Ayers' backing band. S1T5: Drums by future Machinist John Marshall. S1T6 sax from George Khan who did the honours on "Team Spirit" from Wyatt's "Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard". S1T7 A Battered Ornaments track, Chris Spedding from the Ornaments on guitar. S1T8 More Khan, vocals from Phil Minton who also sang on albums by H. Cow offshoots Lindsay Cooper & News From Babel; Cadillac leader Mike Westbrook was briefly in alliance with Cow as part of The Orkestra. S1T9 bassist Steve Cook later of Soft Machine, drummer Roger Odell later of er, Shakatak.
S1T10 viola & arrangement courtesy Fred Frith.
S2T1. On drums, Mike Travis later of Gilgamesh & Hug Hopper bands.S2T4 Vogel engineered the Art Beears albums. S2T7 the arrangement lifted wholesale from Wyatt's version. S2T9 Whitney sings Hopper! Who'da thunk it?
I'm a bit Canterburied out right now so I'll probably get to work on other projects that have been fermenting for a while, and will probably return in a couple of months time. I don't like staying in one musical place for too long. The next post could well be something completely different.
Feedback:
Lotsa gems and Pere Ubu. Excellent addition to this series.

Ha ha. "The 'bury vibe"...nice stuff. "Canterburied out" is good too. I said this was nice, right? Yes, I did. Nice.
