Comment:
I am still new and tentative about putting mixes out there for public consumption. So be gentle. This started out as just a mix of great stuff I had been listening to lately. But as I started making a playlist, a theme emerged. The mix is an analogy for a night out. The mix starts out with some high powered, focused rock and party music. As the night progresses and you start to imbibe, the physical heat starts to rise (Worked Up...) but things are still under control. Later, the pick-up lines start to fly (I Say I Love You). And then your friend with the party drugs shows up (Ted Leo & the Pharmacists). At first, you don't feel anything (Nothing Ever Changes). But then it kicks in and things get a little whimsical and, shall we say, less controlled. You might end up at Howl at the Moon or a karaoke bar (Let's Go Down to the Town Oasis). At the end of the night, you should either have a designated driver or a cab, but many of us (bad!!!) choose to break the law and drive ourselves home (Outlaw Song). And then you wake up with a bad hangover and you pay the piper for your night of fun. (Serves You Right, Service & Repair) I hope you like the mix. Someone from AOTM who says she digs analogies inspired this extended metaphor. This week has been a lot of research for this mix (I don't party as much as I used to, I'm old now dammit! but friends from out of town are visiting) and I am at about the Serves You Right phase right about now (Sat late night) and it makes sense to me at this moment. How about you?Feedback:
Very nice...how about one for a dinner party turned picnic turned icicle-disguised-as-a-girl?
