Mark me down as one of those that Zappa hated: someone who considered his most significant work to have been that created in collaboration with the original Mothers. Roy, Don, Motorhead, Jimmy Carl & the rest may not have been as technically slick as some of Zappa's later musicians but they had a fuck sight more character & personality.

Dancin' Fool's there chiefly to illustrate the catastrophic fall off in quality during the later years. Musically it's pretty nifty but the snide lyrics are devoid of any redeeming insight. Just the same kind of cheap sneers, in fact that could easily have come from the mouth of Hungry Freaks own uncomprehending Mr America. To modify what Nic Cohn said of the Stones, it might have been better had he died in the blaze that inspired Smoke On The Water.
