Comment:

Last summer, one of my best friends left to do a two year stint as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Nicaragua. She could take very few personal possessions, so her music collection stayed home. This is the first of two tapes I am sending her, far too long after she got hold of a tape player: this one is all old, familiar favorites. The title means "I love you" in Miskitu, the language of the region where she is working. (Actually, they use the same word for "pain" and "love"; to say that you love someone literally means that you look at them with pain.)

Beautiful stuff.., and surely she'll concur, in the end, it was worth the wait. Great stuff. (As the proud possessor of a "Misfit disc made for me", she'll keep it tight to the vest.)

Gah, this is beautiful too. All of side 1 is absolutely perfect, and as I look at side 2, I see that applies there as well. Just incredibly beautiful. I especially love the Gram picks, Whiskeytown, Son Volt, Lucinda, and I adore that second Dylan pick as well. I'd be interested to hear that version of "Hickory Wind" too, I don't believe I've ever heard of her doing that. Is it studio or live?

This looks wonderful. I'd luv a copy on CD if you have that format as well. I did 2 years myself and the Dead and Van Morrison got me through many a night.
