Comment:
Though I've dropped plenty of mixes while loaded, I've yet to address the unfortunate habit of drinking and mixing directly. Here I look the twin vices square in the eye - at least, that was the idea, some sort of meta-alcoholic mix (boy, does that sound pretentious or what - and not really accurate anyway, since the songs aren't really about getting drunk and making mix tapes. Do any exist?). Anyway, all that hornswoggle aside, it's really just a mix about getting good and ripped. The first side condenses a prolonged bout with the bottle into 45 minutes, proceeding from the initial fleeting (and false) euphoria through the inevitable mistakes and regrets, to the subsequent staggering around early the next morning looking for some place open with the coffee on. I thought to continue side 2 with more of the same, but things quickly became derailed and I ended up just throwing on any old random shit that occurred - which is de rigueur for mixes of this nature. So let's raise a toast as the world goes to shit around us. Cheers! Prost! Salut!

Pretty neat. And I like your Spacemen 3 allusion in the title.
its funny that you put "the blood" by the cure on a "drinking" mix... you may know this and put it on for this reason but robert wrote that song about a portuguese peasant wine called the tears of christ... robert said "if you drink half a bottle, you start having horrible visions. on the label, the virgin mary holds the baby jesus under one arm adn a bottle under the other!"
this is awesomely brilliant. dean martin, ac/dc. dean martin, that awesome dino quote, and that henry rollins shouty song at the end for no reason, just like a drunk. if this doesn't get at least considered for mix of the week, there is no God. or He's out drinking or something. great mix!
