Comment:

Cornelia Skinner: "Women keep a special corner of their hearts for sins they have never committed."
Stanislaw Lech: "When smashing monuments, save the pedestals. They always come in handy."
John Neale: "A certain amount of opposition is a great help to a man. Kites rise against-- not with-- the wind."
Oscar Wilde: "A man who marries his mistress leaves a vacancy in that position."
Kin Hubbard: "It's going to be fun to wait and see how long the meek can hold onto the Earth after they've inherited it."
Sir Isaac Newton: "Tact is the knack of making a point without making an enemy."
Anonymous: "Never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person."
Albert Einstein: "Common sense is the accumulation of acquired prejudices by the age of eighteen."
This tape represents a sea change in my listening habits; it marks the day that I finally "got" indie rock. The source of this change is Indie Pop Rocks, an Internet radio station I listen to at work. The quotes are taken from a free CD included with a book called, "The Most Brilliant Things Ever Said, in Two Lines or Less". They're meant to stand in for station I.D.s, which I do sort of miss on mix tapes. There are also odd shtz 'n' gglz from various records that I thought might augment the sound collage. "The Stars That Wouldn't Shine" were an actual punk band who played in Albany around the time I was going to school there. I never heard a note of their music but I always loved the name.

This deserved a comment. I don't know why it didn't get one. The quotes are so cool, and I found it by searching for kittycraft. I love kittycraft!
