this is a mix for my cousin Liam, who just turned 13. my aunty asked me to make a mix for him a while back, as the poor kid only has 1 cd and it's some crap like rammstein. i forgot about making it until recently. his birthday is the 8th of april, mine's the 9th (i turned 16). so i thought i'd make it for him for his birthday. i stayed up till midnight the night before, making an awesome cover. i did a collage from the drum and various other music mags, of all the artists on the album. on the back i did another collage of pictures i cut out from an ad for live at the chapel or something. there were lots of little squares of pictures from different bands performing. nice close ups of fingers on pianos and the necks of guitars, drums, mics etc. looked quite nice. & in the middle a picture of the mix monster. if i wasn't so lo-fi, i'd have a scanner and scan it in. but alas, i do not possess such technology. anyway, this is a mix i made to introduce and try to educate my cousin in good music. i chose mainly the hits from these bands, or the single off the particular album. i threw in a few aussies, and a few lesser known acts. but i tried to make it easy to digest, as i don't want to scare him away from alternative music. ;-)

ps. just thought i'd share it that almost a year after i gave liam this mix, i was listening to placebo when he was over, their new album, and he quoted the name of the song, told me he loved them and had bought their album straight away. YESS!!! i thought that was so great that i burnt him all their other albums as a reward. :-)
