Comment:
Another schizophrenic mishmash of a romantic mix for Jen, along the same lines as my last mix for her, "You're my reason to get out of bed before noon". Title from the Dennis Wilson classic that closes the disc.Feedback:
Some very cool stuff and that New White Stripes album is absolutely top-shelf. Is that version of "Yoshimi..." from "Yoshimi Wins", or someplace else? I have that disc, but haven't really listened to it much. Oh, I really like that Lucinda song too. Nice little sentiment tying it all together, too.
yes i Love your Eddie Floyd pick and I'm really glad that someone but me loved Baxter Dury but that Sly song hmmm and i REALLY "love" him
I'm with the swede on Baxter.....nice mix. I always appreciate a good "Love" mix.
great pick off "Elephant" and that Of Montreal song is fantastic....lovely mix
some very nice stuff on here, Rob. great mix.
Nice work Robbo. (There's also a version of 'Yoshimi' sung in Japanese which is lush.)
Good mix... love that troggs tune.
Pffffff. Love. Lucky you.
Looks really good Rob. Ain't love grand? I see that Depeche Mode has found their way on to another one of your mixes. How long before we see you do a DM single artist mix? ;)
love that owl & pussycat - i didn't know that it was lois' new band. good new white stripes, though it hasn't grown on me as much as some. and god love the shangri-las.
Ahh, sweet, Rob. Lucky you. At least someone around here is getting some!
Actually, Ion, despite your friendly sarcasm, I could probably come up with 80 minutes' worth of Depeche Mode stuff that I like (which would, of course, be filed under the "guilty pleasures" heading). ;-P Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending upon how you look at it), all I own is a CDR of Black Celebration and all Jen owns are Some Great Reward and the two singles collections. If you happened to have Music for the Masses, a CD version of "Route 66", and Violator, we could probably talk. :-)
Sorry mate. I don't have any of al la Mode on CD, just a stray 12-inch single or two. I do have a couple Lois CDs. Let me know if you ever want copies.
Sweet mix, Rob. I have a Lois comp if you're interested.
