Comment:
My ultimate goal is to have my friends -- who are mostly unfamiliar with some of this new(ish) music -- eventually sing along to these songs in the shower. Or the car, if they choose not to get the CD wet.Feedback:
Bill Gates Must Die. That is the ONLY song I think of when I think of John Vanderslice.
Erik - me commenting on this mix would be like a blind man commenting on a tour of the Museum of Modern Art. At least I can say that the air conditioning works. Do you offer credit for this indie course? I'll need to get this after I have shipped you a few discs, and AFTER I get that wonderful early Sinatra mix. Please allow me room for a short annecdote: I read a blurb once wherein the author criticized Bill Gates for wasting people's time in line for an ice cream because he was digging thru his pockets for a coupon. I maintain that anyone, no matter how rich, has the right to have the fun of using a coupon to get a good deal. Please delete this comment if too irrelevant.
everyone should know about the weakerthans!
I put this on the speakers out the window to accompany some yardwork. Never heard any of it before. The sequences of 4 thru 6 and 11 thru 19 are especially good. Guitar-driven 9 is also a standout. You can tell the lower energy (or volume) generally appeals to me on this one. Per your goal, I was (trying) to sing along to get the key to church, to get there first! thanks for keeping me up on the indie rock.
