Comment:

This is the third installment on cds of music to advise geeks on how to manage their social lives through music. Okay, now that you have the first two cds, you've got music to listen to around your friends and music to listen to around your enemies. What else do you need? Music to listen to around the ladies. For this you'll need to pull out the big guns. We're looking for emotional, but not emo, soft, but not adult contemporary. Female icons like Tori Amos, Fiona Apple and Poe are good, but stay away from adamantly political female performers like Ani DiFranco...remember, you want to be hanging around _straight_ women. Basically, scan your own musical tastes for what _you_ like that might be palatable to the average female musical taste. (Keep in mind, I'm not talking about all the sweet AOTM chicks that are into the same stuff you are.) Ben Folds' ballads are perfect, and so is pretty much any Cat Power song. You'll be mackin' on all the girlies in no time!

First, great mix. Second, I absolutely adore the Seventeen-magazine-esque comments. You should have your own geek column.

I agree with Courtney. You are pure genius. But, uh, what's up with that statue in the background of the image? It'd creep me out if I were the girl in the black dress. Yeeeps.

The image was taken from google image search. I know not the people in it nor the statue.
