Comment:

I'm not real sure what possessed me to make this double mix cd earlier today, it just kind of happened. I guess it's because i love today's music so much. I try to find out where my music came from, where the song writers of today get there inspiration from. There are over riding themes in music that will always be there, no matter the time or the society we live in. Being born in '85, i wasn't around for these songs when they first came out. Yet i still realize that if it wasn't for these songs, their writers, and the groups that performed them, music wouldn't be what it is today.

As i said above i wasn't there when this stuff came out, so i think this cd is going to be a constant work in progress. Feel free to add any suggestions you have for other songs that i may be ignorant of, but would go good on (maybe) a 3rd and 4th cd to this series.

(You have no idea how hard it was to seperate these 34 songs from an original list i had of 72)

Excellent selection. Being of the same age as you, I applaud your eclecticism. If this were published, I'd buy me a copy.

what can I say lots of great bands here. A few I'm not fans of but hey. As far as song selection again lots of good tunes some not my favourite choices for the bands (i.e "casey jones, bohemian rhapsody, jumpin jack flash, Gloria) plus other songs I might have picked differently but I just wanted to suggest a few other bands that judging from your choices of that era u might enjoy Cream, Santana,Allman Bros, Bob Marley, frank Zappa, Black Sabbath, The Band, little feat, los lobos, to name a few.
