I work with 16-24 year old "at risk" youth...mostly men. One of my favorite student-leaders is graduating tomorrow, and he has joined the Army. Infantry. I wanted to make him a mix to help keep him company...except when I talked to him about it, he said that he pretty much only listens to Techno. Just the sheer number of times I've used Willie Nelson on mixes is enough to show that I don't have a lot of Techno! So I dug deeply into my cd collection, gathering some songs that I haven't listened to in over ten years...and tried to come up with a mix that will interest him enough that he'll listen to it, but broaden his tastes slightly. (Hell, when I was his age and I went into the Army, I would've told someone that I pretty much only listened to Heavy Metal!!)
