Comment:
Between The Mekons' punk & country phases John Langford, two mates & a beatbox created The Three Johns. Drunken post-punk throb mixed with Beefheart angularities. These are all their singles with a few choice b-sides & EP tracks added. An LP plus a few live/outtake releases also exist. I'm not certain about The Jelly Bishops. Never could get a straight answer out of Langford, but their sole EP is on a label whose only other release was a live document of The Johns' Chicago debut. It certainly sounds like them at any rate, thus it's inclusion here.Feedback:
Never thought I'd see a single artist mix devoted to these guys, but they're certainly worthy. Love Death to the European and Sold Down the River, but I miss King Car.
yes I look forward to hear this, i still working on the "Do the pop swedish style" for ya
Huh. Wow. I'm sure I'm interested in this, although I confess to never hearing anything by this Langford project. Toss it in the pile to be exchanged in a couple of months.
very intriguing stuff. maybe we can get around to this at some hazy point in the future....
