The Skinny Girls Must Learn To Cook For Us
Comment:
A Mix featuring female vocalists. The title comes from Halloween 1998 in Madison on State Street. A lot of fun. I was in a very ill-conceived Xena costume that I had no business wearing, 'cause, well I'm not a skinny girl & it certainly showed that night. I had, however, spent a lot of time sewing it, so I wore it anyway. While my friends and I were hanging out on State St., we saw this little man standing by a light pole with a little stuffed tiger he'd named El Tigre. He would use El Tigre to shout at people walking by. These group of girls who looked right out of a Gap commercial (and let me tell you, they were the ones who looked out of place that night) ignored his salutations, so El Tigre yelled to them, "The skinny girls must learn to cook for us!" It was very funny. He also told me that I looked more like Chaka Khan than Xena, so I started singing "I Feel For You," which was pretty much illustrative of the fun and weirdness of that whole night.

Sweet stuff...and a cool story!
