Comment:

You can fit alot of stripes onto an eighty minute cd, including most of their amazing first album. This was made as a complement to my Infinity Collection for my best friend, which is why it leaves out two of my favourite stripes songs, screwdriver and st. james infirmary blues.

De Stijl seems a little under-represented....that's my favorite album I reckon; a nice mix though!

Sorry to pay so little attention to de stijl. A fine album, but it seems to me that what they do on that album, they do better on others. Perhaps I'm missing something--I've heard others say they prefer it. However, Jack White says the first album is his favourite, so I'm not alone.

Wow...before I read the other folks' comments, I was gonna say..."why so light on 'De Stijl'?" That's my fave of theirs as well, although "Elephant" comes *really* close, I think. (Those two are easily their most diverse records). On the other hand, I feel that "White Blood Cells," while a great record, is fairly overrated.

Okay, okay, I'll spend today doing a close listening of De Stijl.

Nope, I still don't understand how anybody could think De Stijl is better than any of their other albums. Though maybe I should have added Apple Blossom.

Heh heh...funny I didn't see this comment until a year later. Anyway, I like "De Stijl" because every song is strong and has its own identity. I can't say the same for either "White Blood Cells" or their first record.
