Comment:

Kind of a stretch calling this a "mix," as the band only survived long enough for two albums and a handful of singles & compilation tracks. Still, their second album, most of which is included here, was one of the most striking, unique, passionate works of the last decade, and their first was pretty great as well. One of the bands I recommend only to musically adventurous people, as they can be pretty off-putting -- annoying vocals, strange instrumentation, occasional guitar distortion chaos, lyrics that verge on scary. Worth it alone for "Holland 1945," a raging rocker about Anne Frank & the Holocaust that may have the most unforgettable lyrics ever written. Not something I say lightly.

A nice collection here, certainly. And I agree completely, I would give SO much for the chance to hear another album from these guys. "In the Aeroplane..." completely changed the way I look at music.

it is indeed a great album. not a bad track. too bad two headed boy pt. 1 and the fool didn't make the cut

Doesn't seem like a tough mix to make... cut out the noise tracks on "On Avery Island" and you've got room for most of the second album... but nothing from Jeff Magnum's solo CD "Live at Jittery Joe's"? I quite like some of the versions of the songs on that.

Got milk? Cool mix from an E6 band that I'm still pretty much unfamiliar with. Didn't know they had called it quits. What is it with these cute boy bands?

This looks cool, Marc. Perhaps you saw my "Waiting to swallow the halos out of you" mix awhile back...

how strange. i love neutral milk hotel, i have their 'in the aeroplane over the sea' album..and for a mix i'm working on i downloaded a neutral milk hotel song, but instead of 'love you on a tuesday' it was called 'tuesday moon'. it must have been mislabelled.

anyway, pretty nice.
