Comment:

A mix celebrating the art of storytelling.
I'd wanted to make this mix for some time, but never got around to it. Then a friend told me that she was collecting songs that told stories to teach narrative flow to her writing class this summer, which gave me the perfect motivation for actually making this mix.
There are a world of songs that could have been included, but I like all of these. The hardest part was making the PE song fit, but I think it flows. Getting a mix to flow musically is my biggest priority in making a mix, especially when it's a themed mix. I also was a bit iffy about including the Velvet Underground track because it's pretty much a spoken word piece, and spoken word pieces feel like cheating. It's such a great little story that I had to include it, though.

Well, its interesting that you didnt include Dylan, but that would be such an obviously choice in a mix of this type. Its almost as though you made an artistic decison to avoid the Bob. But this a marvelous span of genres here--great to have the Velvets and Public Enemy fit in the same mix.

Good choices of songs-- very varied --and GREAT COVER concept! Just cause am a big B0lsh0i fan... I would suggest "Amsterdam" Though I don't now if it would be fit for kids...
