Comment:
Yep, another mix about Texas to join the many others. Anyway, this here's my ode to my home. Ain't no place like it. (It's a love-hate relationship, if you couldn't tell.) Thanks and a tip o' the Stetson for the cover art to ... who else ...... VALIS, the all-seeing and all-knowing one. It was art that cried out for a mix. (Also kind of reminds me of a former Texas governor now living on the east coast.) Thanx also to Mo Twang! for the title track. Yes, kiddies, there really is an Uncertain, Texas! Volume 2 on the way. Lemme hear a big YEEEEHAW!
Feedback:
That's a whole lotta great songs about Texas.
hopefully I can go there someday
Great songs, great cover!
Great mix. Doug Sahm was a pioneer.
This really does the business, Mr Franklin. Great pix, Great cover.
Lovely, love the Johnny Winter among others. cool stuff.
I was just down in Corpus Christie for Spring Break, passed through San Antonio and Dallas. Great State, beautiful people, much different culture than I'm used to up here in Minnesota. (try coming up with a list of songs about us, you can't, it's just not a worthy enough state!) Great mix...if you want to add a few to Vol. 2, here's my ideas:
Alabama- If you're gonna play in Texas
John Michael Montgomery- Dream on, Texas Ladies

Nice one FO! All ya' need is a Lone Star commercial-"the national beer of Texas!"-and it's perfect! (I may kid my wife quite a bit about about Tejas, but it's because I love her and the state what her made her so special!) ((Note to Swissmiss17: actually it wouldn't be difficult at all to do that Minne'mix...start with a guy who should make Disc 2 of this series-John Prine: "Sabu Visits the Twin Cities Alone")
Oh...., nice cover Mister Onn! ;D

Dang and hellfar'...an extra 'about' and an extra 'her', that makes it 'about her'......
Great one man! I've got a nice Bugs Henderson that would do if you make a v.2. Just shout.
Gig 'em!... except where's the Rev. Horton Heat?
i can't say that i've heard of more than two of those performers, but you know what? i live in texas, so it doesn't really matter. i can't imagine living somewhere else...thanks for the tribute!
"I Wasn't Born In Texas, But I Got Here As Soon As I Could." If there is a volume 2 in the works, go for my favorite Austin-area band of the moment, Blue October...their first album has the song, "The Darkest Hour of Houston's Brightest Day." This is a nice mix...I especially like the Lyle Lovett song (being from Up Nort' as I am!!). PEACE
