Comment:

In anticipation of the new Belle & Sebastian album, I made myself a couple of tapes that collected their side projects(looper, gentle waves), labelmates, fellow countrymen, influences (both acknowledged and alleged influences), and kindred spirits (including some of the first crop of bands baring the trace of a B&S influence.)

hey, i like your judicious choice - even josef k (which i love)and where are they now bands(?) such as the june brides... bob dylan kinda stuck out but b& s have probably been influenced by his early stuff... good choice - I see this being played in a neighbourhood caff/pub frequented by Existentalists.

Even the urban skyline for Fold Your Hands Child was reminiscent of Josef K's artwork for The Only Fun In Town. Fabulous tape.

this is great. i especially like your inclusion of the lucksmiths and sodastream. did you know that sodastream had never heard of b&s when they started? (and yet they sound so similar)
