Comment:
For Steve Mossholder, based upon an offhanded remark that he made on my mix that I posted earlier today. I'm surprised I had not done one of these until now. 78 minutes of an artist that I've really only grown to appreciate over the past three or four years. Of course a couple of key songs had to be cut, particularly "Let Me Have It All," "Life," "(You Caught Me) Smilin'" and "Africa Talks to You 'The Asphalt Jungle'."Feedback:
good stuff, Rob. Showing once again your wide-ranging tastes!
how fantastic! I love Sly & The Family Stone. that one track (I Want To Take You Higher) that they played in Moonlight Mile is so wonderful. *thumps up* nice job, as always.
great stuff, There's a riot goin' on is one of my absolute fav records of all time
One of my all time favorite artists. I grew up loving Sly and the Family. I Want to Take You Higher was the Wolfmans theme on The Hilarious House of Frightenstein ( A Canadian childrens variety show with a haunted castle theme) check out www.hilarioushouseoffrightenstein.com . I've wanted to do a single artist mix on them for a while but I wouldn't know what to cut.Nice job Rob.
sorry, it's actually just www.frightenstein.com
yeah FANTASTIC!
Great. Totally.
One of my favorite bands of all time. I remember the very first time ever hearing them. A small neighborhood record shop in Philly selling mostly soul singles. The guy at the counter played a new single for his friends. He cranked out "Dance to the Music". The store went crazy. Everyone in the shop bought a copy including me. Got to see them live twice in 69 during the festival summer. Awesome mix.
well, you mixin' fool, thanks. I can just see your cd collection crowding you out your front door.
Actually, Steve, it just fills one bedroom and most of a small room in our basement. :-) Thanks for all of the positive feedback, folks.
Killer
