Comment:
A mostly chronological mix for my dad's 50th birthday full of bathtub sing-along songs, "expedition" saturdays in the car (Rawhide, when my brother and sister and I were young we were big on calling things, and I would call being "roped" and then someone else would call being "thrown" and the last one would be "branded" which of course meant a lot of pinching), songs that my dad altered the words to to wake us up in the morning (Brylcream => "Breakfast, a little dab'll do you, Breakfast, it looks good in your hair"), and songs that remind me of childhood (Puff the magic dragon), songs that I thought were my dad's originals until I learned they were oldies, impromptu living room dance parties, songs my dad never stops singing, songs about growing old, and some relating to the scientist that is my dad that I'm following right along in becoming, songs that (in short) remind me of my dad. The Essex Green sums up Saturday mornings at my house.... "if you want to see the sun, then son you better get up"Feedback:
I like this a lot. A little bit of everything.
Great mix. Make sure to question Dad closely on the true meaning of "Puff."
Great mix!
this is really nice mix. i tried to do one for my mom when she turned fifty but it didn't work out nearly as well. i hope he enjoys this!
damn, your dad sings that Battle of New Orleans song too? there should be support groups for stuff like that...
