Comment:
This is the first in a series of "dredged-up" mixes -- they aren't the pinnacle of perfection, 'cause I don't have an ideal collection of specimens to chooose from in the categories I wanna mix. There are a few selections from whole albums, but mostly they're the best of what I've been able to scrounge from sundry sources on the 'net. I frigging love countertenors, and they're a neglected breed, so I thought they should get their own spot on AOTM, meager as I was forced to make it. They're an acquired taste, I suppose, but give 'em a chance, and you'll be grooving to their strange sweet purity and richness the same way I do.Feedback:
Babycakes! I was CRUSHED, I tell you, when I saw Andreas Scholl's prominent wedding ring on the front of the Olde Englyshe Folke Songe CD.
Hee hee. Yes, I know. It's always a shock to the system when one encounters a straight countertenor. You're all, like, "You know you sound like a girl, right?" And they're all, "You wouldn't *believe* the chicks it gets me!"
WOW! Oh my gosh, I never thought I would find such a eunich(unique) mix here on AOTM. But I never get used to surprises. My first experience with a countertenor had my jaw gaping. I didn't know there were so many out there...I'm going to dredge up some right now! And I love your CD cover!
