I made this tape because my cd walkman broke and I wanted to have some of the songs I've been listening to to a lot lately on tape to listen to with my regular walkman on the three hour bus ride to Philly on a school trip. This is really only part one as I will be making another tape with the other songs later. The first live Counting Crows songs are from their new "official bootleg" 'Face the Promised Land' and the last one is from their other official boot, 'By the time we got to woodstock'. The Janis songs are from the box set, and from 'Live at Winterland'. All the songs capture the feelings I've been having: loving someone and not being able to tell them, but then telling them that there is still some time left-- and that it never really ends.. or that they dont know how much that you love them. and some of them are just about how love is a big pain in the ass, or wonderful. "Black Mountain Side" is in there because it's my signature song, and it's a nice ending to a tape.
