My first new post in ages... Lots of great new music out there: The Radiohead inclusion *not* taken from the excellent new 'Hail to the Thief' (the songs on which sound even better live)... Goldfrapp's 'Black Cherry' is the best sex album since Massive Attack's 'Mezzanine'... Kings of Convenience's Erlend Oye's new, low key electronica album is well worth finding... Sondre Lerche's debut is the Great Pop Album the High Llamas have been threatening to deliver for a decade... Evan Dando's 15 minutes are a distant memory, but he still delivers great songs when he can be bothered... I don't particularly care for the Doors, but I liked the Siouxsie cover of this song enough to track down the original, and it's a good 'un... Speaking of cover versions, 64-year-old Folk/jazz vocalist Andy Bey's take on Sting's "Fragile" is as stunning as his interpretation of Nick Drake's "River Man" is gorgeous... Dancey post-punk gets the yesterday & today treatment with A Certain Ratio and !!! (pronounced "Chk Chk Chk")... Azure Ray brings it all to a lovely, quiet close.
