Got a little hotsummercity thing goin' on. Let me just tell you how the Spencer Davis Group song made it on here. Misheard lyrics. When I was a kid, I thought they were saying "gimme summer lovin'". (That, and the fact that it's so hot in there that "the place is on fire".) Hot Pants and Mini Skirts made it on here cuz that's what you gotta wear when it's summer and hot in the city. And Maria Bonita made it on just for the opening line. My big regret is that I couldn't find the original song from "Meatballs" so had to settle for the remake.
I know any form of the song Heatwave is missing and that's because I don't like it. Thought about Style Council's "long hot summer" but it was getting on my nerves. As did The Who's "in the city". Sounds too much like the Beach Boys. Blech!
