Comment:
An extended fuck you to Andrew Dreskin, promoter and "organizer" of the Field Day Farce. Made the weekend before it was supposed to happen, when hope was draining away at an exponential rate. Not quite as harsh or codemnatory as intended, more wistful resignation. And as of this writing, I'm actually quite glad it didn't go off (or at least, I didn't go to the horrid joke of a show at Giant's Stadium), since the weekend was pretty much a complete washout, and the thought of lining this crook Dreskin's pockets would've ruined my enjoyment of the thing anyway. And yes, I'm aware that Suffolk County had a good deal to do with this thing not going off, but ultimately the blame lies with the promoter, who displayed a thorough lack of responsibility and consideration when things came down to the wire and seemed to show little if any remorse for completely trashing several thousand people's summer vacations.Feedback:
nice, though i was hoping it would be a fuck you from just field day artists. or a mix of the people who were supposed to play at calverton but didn't at giants' stadium. still, nice mix, good idea, and pretty rant. maybe i'll take a crack at a mix like this.
Field Day was amazing, sure it was a farce with all of the politics surrounding it, but the music was incredible. Radiohead made me forget about all of it. Blur and Spiritualized were brilliant too. It was well worth the crap we had to endure to get there.
Nice mix by the way
Man, I agree the promoter was a bonehead and the town were a bunch of mofos, but Giants Stadium wasn't that far out of the way and you missed out on a perfect day of music. Bad decision skipping out. Anyway, nice mix and I half agree with the intent, but you are soooo way off on calling that concert a joke.
