Comment:
It's amazing what you can achieve by putting a few of your favourite dance tracks through ACID Pro. This is a mix of all the tunes I have danced around to in the past and would ideally be played at a kicking party with massive lazers and ting.It starts with a Dancehall anthem courtesy of Red Rat which slowly shifts to the Ragga Jungle version of "Six Million Ways To Die".
"Incredible" is such a basic track that it's fun to play with in a mix.
In ACID Pro I managed to mix the bass heavy "Covert Dub" over M Beat's rhythms and General Levy's 'wicked' toasting before Andy C descends with the mighty "Body Rock" anthem.
I debated over which Aphex Twin tune to put on the mix. This was chosen because I remember caning around to this in Sheffield after a gig, and also because of the "let's 'ave some aphex acid" line.
Of all things, it was Gabba that got me into dance music in the first place.
It's the ultimate form of electronica - just so loud and fast.
I stuck Manowar as an untitled track straight after my friend Feedle's excellent "Transmission Zero". "Carry On", despite the sudden genre shift, fits perfectly into this mix as the way the song builds up, it could be a Trance track. Maybe that's pushing it a bit, but "Carry On" certainly gives out good vibes on all levels.
