1979: I honestly can't imagine another year like it happening again. In the middle of my favourite musical period (for rock/pop anyway) of about 1977-1983, this one year has at least 15 "perfect 10" albums, and at least three dozen that I enjoy more than most anything released in the past decade. This 2-disc set is part of a forthcoming 5-6 disc set covering the years 1978-1982. It's been fantastically fun making these mixes, which were given away to listeners of a recent radio show I did which featured much of this music. To get the mix, the listeners had to phone in and tell me what year all of the music was from. People were pretty enthused, I think-- so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of this music starts getting more attention Stateside in the near future.
