A friend of mine once did that with Metal Machine Music and Peter , Paul and Mary and called it The Peter , Paul and Mary Chain

interesting idea. I can only take so much of "metal machine music" though. Maybe this would make it more palatable.

Ages ago, I tried mixing MMM with a Test Dept. rhythm track and a chorale by Thomas Tallis. Didn't really work (the chorale was too rhythmic), but it's good to see layering mixes popping up here.
