First pop mix in a while, made for Mr. Matt Birt. Some new, some not so new - all pop, though the Waistcoats track is more garage (but still brilliant). Thanks to Robert for Plush. All right, let it pop.

As you know, I'm not a big fan of pop music, but this mix could change my opinion.

I know only about three tracks here, Sean, but I'm sure it's up to your usual standard, so please throw it on the pile!

Looks like just another winner, and it's been a while since I last saw the mighty Soup Dragons appear on a mix. Loverly.

I think Ion is being facetious (spelling?), after that last mix of his. This looks great as usual.

Sean---, great start to a great slice o' the pop life! (Damn, lo-fi stole my line.) Always good to see the Clean show up; Hail the Wondermints!; also, that "Summer Strut" by the Blondes has a lot to choose from---, great call on that one;love that New Pornographers; also good Bacino! Bronco Bullfrog will be missed....gone before we knew 'em!!! Viva Supergrass! I'm with the Moor on Soup Dragons.., might-ay indeed. Wouldn't have figured you for a "World Party guy", although I like 'em a lot, Mr. Wallenger knows his way 'round a hook or two....the others, as you say, must be great by virtue of the company they're keeping.....I'm catchin' if you're pitchin'..... ;D

Buncha stuff here I haven't heard... which means, based on the excellence of your prior pop collections, that I've got some shopping to do. (Incidentally, I'm going to find it very difficult over the next few months to make a pop collection that doesn't include a few items from the new Fountains of Wayne and New Pornographers albums... keeping the pop faith alive!)

Hey does that mean World Party is still around? Or is it one of the "not so new"? Loving the Delgados right now and might go check out the Polyphonic Spree when they come to town. Let me know if you wanna trade soon. This looks great!
By the way, that title scared me.

the title is, what my friends might call, ironic. more importantly, it's a sopranos reference to a really creepy character.

the damned disc is INFECTIOUS! Listened to it three times, back-to-back, Tuesday night/Wednesday morning during a bout of insomnia...(insomnia won.) Outstanding colllection of pop so pure you'd swear Lally tapped a big ol' Vermont maple and backed a truck up to the spout. Hey Sean: Holly would? Wouldn't she..?
