Comment:

A major part of the Eagles' mythos as world-beating country rockers was their California-cowboy image as rock 'n' roll outlaws, and they had plenty of pistol-packing, ten-gallon tunes to back it up. They even named their second album [i]Desperado[/i], and conjured up the Wild West with an elegy for the notorious train-robbing gang of "Doolin-Dalton," and "Outlaw Man's" road-weary tale of the dusty-trail, bringing the connection between guitar-slingers and trigger-fingers to life. Of course, they never forgot who or where they were, painting a devastating picture of their hometown's showbiz bad guys with a slow-burning, acidic assault on "King of Hollywood."
