Comment:
The first mix I made for JUMP SHIP, a short-lived little zine and music club for my friends. The mix is dedicated to Jayson Blair, my former and now infamous co-worker. You may have read about his exploits in such obscure publications as NEWSWEEK, WASHINGTON POST and some paper called THE NEW YORK TIMES, where he (used to) work. At least, until he was fired for plaigarizing other reporters and fabricating leads, quotes, expense reports and other things over the course of several years.Blair was a short little man with an exuberance that got him places, only to flush them away in a fit of self destruction. His "personal problems" led to quite a bit of strife while he was attending University of Maryland College Park with some of us, and I know it sounds petty, but it could not have happened to a nicer guy.

Feedback:
LOL! Thanks man, this mix cracked me up. Excellent choices. Especially the Bull Moose Jackson, he's a great one.
Hooray for Gloria Jones.
Good call with Soulwax and Lounge Against the Machine! This is great; nice work.
Never let the facts get in the way of a good story, my mom always told me. Hey, it got him on the cover of Newsweek! How many print reporters can say that? So did you save a copy of the mix for him?
"Lies" by the Thompson Twins would have been right at home here -- "Lies, lies, lies, they're gonna get ya!"
