Comment:
This is an some of the best formally released Weezer material (from their actual albums and corresponding bsides), definitely not including all the outtakes and demos, which are on the second Weezer compilation - also posted. Might could use a better order and some shortening.Feedback:
i don't believe in positive comments...this is a horrible mix. no essential weezer album would include songs from maladroit or the green album. i mean you gotta have "the good life" and "you gave your love to me softly" and where is "surf wax america" and "say it ain't so" and "why bother"
Holy crap! Haha. I can't believe I forgot You Gave Your Love and Say It Ain't So.. (You Gave used to be my favorite, pre-Sugar Booger) but good LAWD man.. I'm a fan from back in the DAY.. a real freak. And in my opinion, Maladroit and Green are their two BEST.. Ug I hate Pinkerton, perhaps it was worn out for me. But bleh. I appreciate the post, I like all feedback, positive or no! The mix also does need some organization. I think I'm taking off Across the Sea...
Oh yeah and one more note.. I say Green and Maladroit are best, but this excludes the last crappy track on both albums. That's why they ain't perfect. Say it ain't so, Rivers! ;)
Fixed the mix.
This is the weirdest Weezer mix I've ever seen. And I'm a fan from "back in the day" too. (First heard them when "Undone" premiered on 120 Minutes in 1994.)
Weirdest? Why? We like the weird. However, we also feel that these work well.. some of their better? Still would like to know why weird.
First of all, who's "we," just out of curiosity? Secondly, it's "weird" because it foregoes almost any of their early material, which is almost unanimously considered their strongest. Now everyone has their own subjective opinions on these things, but when you label something as "essential," it begs that some modicum of objectivity be used. (Most of their singles aren't even here). Third, to answer you question posted on my "Now That's What I Call F---ing Music!" mix, yes, I own "The Fabulous 8 Track Sound Of Superdrag" on CD. I bought it in the mid '90s...right around the time I saw them live and met them. :-) Coincidentally, I have never seen it in a store since then.
Oh, and I'm not trying to insult you here, but it seems like the track running order was picked out of a hat.
Damn. Ok well to answer all. We (TheMusicHunter.com) are not insulted.. the staff, that is. Heheh. Also, those were just the songs we felt were their best, in our humble opinions. Good songs? Yes. Their best? Maybe. What ones are better or missing? Their cheezier stuff ain't great, and sorry, any Weezer fan no matter how big should realize songs like "O Girlfriend" and "December" are such shit that they're hard to listen to, if at all. Bleh. Green album recording was followed closely on this end.. there was some great stuff never used, they made some weird choices on their ALBUM so oh well. And yeah, that Superdrag album is outta print. Hard to find, most people have to download bad quality copies. :)
And who are you, King Weezer? Hahahah. Not trying to be insulting.
Well, I did correspond with Mykel and Carli before they died...
