There are no good Kinks greatest hits compilations either! What's wrong with these record companies? Bust through your speaker and check this out.Feedback:
the virgin megastore just started selling a cd called the ultimate kinks collection that's 2 cds and going for ten bucks. they had something like it in britan for years, and i bought it on import, but they recently got in here. i think it has almost all of those tracks. either way, it's pretty damn good.
Awesome! Well you got a good deal. I have several Kinks greatest hits and had to compile this from those.. this even has some more obscure ones... pain in the ass haha. But isn't that half the fun? :) Ah the life of a music junkie.
Nice mix from THE greatest rock and roll band of all time. Have a look at my "Brotherly Hate" mix - we have very little overlap, a mark of a really great band. They mean something different to everyone.
Nice mix! And yes, the Kinks are the most underrated great band of all time, and should always be mentioned in the same breath with Beatles and Stones (IMHO). As for not having a good 'Hits' package, I look at it as a blessing -- this way, people are forced to buy the original albums, dig a little deeper and find their own personal gems!
Hey thanks, both of ya! I totally like the Kinks better than the Beatles :) More timeless. And that ain't wrong.
What SAG said..... just about every Kinks release b/w 65 and 71 is flawless. The earlier ones are great and raw, with a couple dubious covers, and the later ones can be spotty but have great moments. Some of the later ones are consistently great as well. God save the Kinks!
