My roomate asked me to make a road trip mix for him. He requested hit single/classic rock type stuff (read: music made and loved by white people). Many selections were made based on my knowledge of his personal likes and dislikes but as a general rule of thumb I tried to stick to stuff that have a driving drum beat and consistant drive. The only exceptions to that rule are Bohemian Rhapsody, Baba O'Riley, and Once In A Lifetime. The former two I allowed in because they are instantly recognizable and their anthematic qualities make up for any other losses. I included Once In A Lifetime despite my rule because, well, I think it's a song that pretty much EVERYBODY likes. Am I wrong? I don't think it will stick out that much. I tried to make a point of following each of those 3 with something that really got off to a quicky cooking start. Let me know what you think.
