i made this mix after calling my friend carmen on friday night when i was bored and had nothing to do. she told me she was making a mix for her friend, and then i remembered that that's what i used to do when i was bored. heheh. i haven't made one for a while, so i was glad to get back into it. All the songs and artists with *'s next to them are ones we discussed in our chat, and they sort of form the backbone of the mix. the others are ones i gathered she might like from her taste & personality. i know 21 songs is a BIG mix, but i couldn't resist. (this is what abstinence does to you). the purpose of the mix was to give her 'true love waits' which we spent a while talking about, and the title comes from the line i told her about. we talked about songs and how you might not understand the lyrics, and then something happens to you, and later on you're listening to the same song, and it just hits you with so much force - you suddenly understand what it's all about, and relate to it SO much. that line for me, is about finding love where you would't expect it - a love that's been waiting for you to realise it's there. a couple of the other songs were also picked from topics we discussed. she recently came out of a big relationship, so i figured "it's a motherfucker" would describe how she might be feeling. the BFF track is about apathy and the like, and the neil young track about drugs and what they do to people - which seems to be a hot topic at the moment with all my friends. we're growing up, and getting more drug fucked as we go. i wonder where this is spiralling downwards to... also, i put one of my newly re-recorded track in there. my band sort of disintegrated, but i don't mind coz we were never really that great. i entered 2 tracks in the musicoz comp, so we'll see how that goes.
