Formed from the break-up of trance rockers Spacemen 3, Spiritualized shimmered into life with their dreamy debut, [i]Lazer Guided Melodies[/i], but it was 1997's [i]Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space[/i] (packaged to look like a drug prescription) that really kicked the portals open — backed variously by Romanian avant-garde string outfit the Balanescu Quartet, the London Community Gospel Choir, and New Orleans piano legend Dr. John, Pierce's work glows.
