Comment:
Part one of a double-disc Cocteau Twins introduction, given as a housewarming gift for friends. Mt. Lemmon had been on fire for a few weeks when I made it, so the title carries a dual reference.Feedback:
I've been meaning to do one of these myself for some time. They're one of those bands I listen to only rarely -- a little Liz goes a long way -- but their peak moments are truly great. I personally favor Treasure, though the much darker Garlands is a sadly-overlooked gem that fits in well alongside, say, Joy Division and early Cure.
I'd always been a casual Cocteau Twins fan until about two years ago. A friend had made me a mix, though, that struck the right chord in me and I've been enraptured ever since. Heaven or Las Vegas and Treasure are probably my favorites, with Blue Bell Knoll not far behind. (And I do agree about Garlands.) The re-issues have been a godsend, particularly for the first three records. The Cocteaus are meant to be crystal clear.
