Alright, so this is the chronological soundtrack to my love life...so far. These are songs that have been playing during important moments or that defined a relationship or a crush. This type of mix warrants an explanation for each song I think...so here it goes:
1.This song always made me think of my first boyfriend. I'm not sure if it stuck in my head while we were together or after we broke up, but probably after we broke up. The funny thing is I broke up with him....but I always get nostalgic for my relationships even if I end them.

2.Again with my first boyfriend, Alex. Same deal about being nostalgic, except this was during freshman year, at least a couple years after I broke up with him. We had just started being friends again.

3.This had to do with a crush I had on my friend Ryan, although this song has described my feelings numerous times after. I chose the Jann Arden version, as opposed to the original, because it's the version I first heard the song in.

4. Once again with the Alex connection, during freshman year. I had the habit of flirting with him by teasing him a lot...sometimes I felt bad.

5.Ok this is from my big love at 16. I liked nsync at the time, so my boyfriend sort of dedicated this song to me. It was cute, I loved it at the time.

6.Same guy. I was on vacation and I was listening to Brian McKnight a lot. I was in love and this song expressed my feelings about him...just as the girl who has everythign was his song for me, this was my song for him.

7.Same guy....after the break up. He sort of cheated on me(strip poker and flirting with some girl) and although I forgave him, I broke it off soon after mainly because we had grown apart and he wasn't keeping his promises.

8.Senior year I really liked this guy, Peter, and we were sort of dating. This was a popular song at the time and it felt like what I wanted to say to him.

9.Same guy. Since I was going away to college and his family was moving to Maine this seemed like a very appropriate song. Strangely enough, it was playing on the radio on our way to prom.

10. Same guy. At prom, this song came on and just to be silly we sang it to each other.

11. Same guy...we danced to this at prom. It was cute. :)

12. I was dancing with this guy Steven at a party to this song. Later I had to explain to him that I really didn't like him more than friends and I was just being flirty...I guess that's what I get for dancing to tainted love.

13. Summer after my freshman year at college, aka summer 2002, I really liked this guy Dan. It was a pretty hopeless crush..he had never really shown any interest in anyone, much less me. This song fit wonderfully because he'd give little signals that he liked me, but they were the kind of signals that could go either way. Anyway, he's in france now...that crush went nowhere...we are friends though :)

14. This song seems kind of weird on here I know, but it was playing when I locked eyes with my current crush, adam. He was looking at me and we looked in each other's eyes for a minute and I broke the silence by asking who the song was by.

I'm the same way, I keep notes of songs to relationships. Plus, I absolutely adore Fiona Apple (particularly Paper Bag)
