Comment:
This mix is entirely comprised of Danny Elfman songs, except with a slight twist. Danny Elfman songs from Tim Burton films! I had wanted to originally do an Elfman mix, but soon realized he's also scored plenty of films from one of my favorite directors. Together they've had a prolific career for making offbeat slightly dark films with haunting soundtracks.This was a fun mix to make but at the same time incredibly hard, as all his music is absolutely beautiful. I touched on all his major orchestrations except for "Big Fish." Since that movie is still in production. I tried to place the music in an order based on the titles, since it all flows well despite being from different films.Track 1-4: introduction of a storyTrack 5-10: the house, the two lovers fall in love get marriedTrack 11: intro of the "bad guy"Track 12-14: bad guy makes his attackTrack 15-16: the hero enters and gets hurtTrack 17-20: escape into the forestTrack 21-24: hero dies but is brought back to liferunning time: 1:17Feedback:

Danny Elfman is a god, + I'm pleased as punch to see someone else giving him + his work such props. I'm very much looking forward to "Big Fish," as both a Tim Burton + a Danny Elfman fan. This really made me smile- it isn't often people pay homage to the musical heavyweights of the cinematic world. A hundred times kudos. Out.
What an excellent mix. I've always meant to do a DE mix, but I like your idea of sequestering the choices to Tim Burton films. Great tracks too - the Beetlejuice theme is a longtime favourite of mine; it always sends me into spastic fits of hyperactivity.
