Comment:

A mix for my friend Lilly on the occasion of her seventeenth birthday. All songs reference the age 17, except for three which just mention teenagehood in general, and one which just mentions the name Lilly. In case you ever want to make a mix like this, let me tell you there are other 17 songs (I found one by Bon Jovi, one by Tim McGraw, one by Janis Ian, etc). It's just that I, personally, happen to think that they suck.

Such integrity is admirable. Bon Jovi and Tim McGraw definitely suck. Hoo-ray for being seventeen! "Teenager in Love" is the greatest oldies song. You = Someone Who Rocks

oh my god... why are their only sixteen tracks? That is such a good question. It's because I'm stupid and didn't even THINK to have seventeen tracks. Oops.

The Magnetic Fields is a fantastic last touch; a most excellent song! Well done.

I like ending mixes with songs about endings, like, "I don't want to get over you." That was the theory.

As your honorary 17th track, may I suggest "Seventeen" by The Joykiller? Actually the song is about suicide, so it may not be such a good idea.

Great mix, I love your Who picks, and the Beatles and Sinatra are good choices as well. Teenage Dirtbag is classic too. Thank god you didn't put Edge of Seventeen on by Stevie Nicks.

i love this mix! it was exactly the inspiration i was looking for in order to make my own compliltation in honor of my golden birthday, as I will be 17 on the 17th. And also I totally agree with boss cherry, i am way more pumped for this birthday than i was for my 16th and i don't know why. it's probably because i like R-rated movies much more than I like driving.
