Comment:
A variant on the record show mix, this is based on the big haul I brought back from our week on the beach in New Hampshire last week in August. A frantic day shopping in Boston/Cambridge has become traditional, Portsmouth has the excellent Bull Moose Music and there were even some junk shops/tag sales, the latter of which yielded Bobby Gentry's rare and amazing "Delta Sweete." Other top scores included the great Terry Reid "Bang Bang" LP, Small Faces' "Ogden" with circular cover, "The Link Wray Rumble" on Polydor, George Martin's hard-to-find take on the "Help" soundtrack and Dr. John's truly weird "Babylon." Not to mention tons of great oldies, a new acquaintance with Jesse Winchester, nice LPs by Billy Preston and the dread Yoko on Apple and a bunch of Dr. Demento discs ("Bulbous Bouffant" is in heavy rotation round these parts). Somehow it all fits together here. And this gift keeps on giving long after the tans have faded.Feedback:
I like the way Freddie & The Dreamers dance
This looks really good, I wish there were more record shows around here, I haven't been to one in years.
What Cam said. And you just can't do without a Beatles cover, can ya? ;)
Hmm, "Willie Joe and his Unitar"..?! Interesting. Very.
