Comment:
Think back. At some point in your life you got a ride in someone's car, and they had this stereo system that could play something louder and crisper than you'd thought possible. The treble rattled your teeth. The bass made the back of your neck vibrate - you could see that bass in the mirror. And you thought to yourself: "I need to hear that one song on this guy's stereo."Or maybe you had a dinner or a movie to go to - or work or wherever you had to go. But you had lingered in your bedroom too long. You were feeling a bit sleepy, a bit hazy, or a bit uninspired to move. But if you could just hear that other song, really loud, that would wake you up and get you moving.
Maybe you were in the stereo shop, surrounded by all those speakers. Maybe you were at a club, and the jukebox wasn't switched on. Maybe you were pissed off and needed to scream, and thought it would be easier if you just heard that song really freakin' loud.
At some point in your life, you must have wanted to turn the knob to 11. And that's what this CD is about: Songs that were meant to be played as loud as freakin' possible.
Some quick warnings:
If you're going to listen to this in the car, make sure you've got an open road in front of you, and no cops around. I don't know what it is - but I just find it impossible to drive slowly to some of these. Nine Inch Nails' "Into The Void" almost got me into an accident. And I blame Fatboy Slim for that speeding ticket back in `98.
If you work in an office, well, make sure it's after hours if you're going to play this at work, because the impulse to crank up your PC speakers may prove too much for you. If you're wearing headphones, don't do any work that requires your concentration. You'll probably end up taking a few breaks to play drums with your pens.
And whatever you do - Play It Loud!

Feedback:
Total agreement on that Propellerheads song; hell, for most of their songs. I used to own the album of, like, 6 different remixes of 'Perfect Drug,' but it just didn't do it for me. Stick with the original, + it's all good. Great comments either way- that's the kinda reading that keeps me coming back to this site. Out.
I wish I knew more of these songs, because I certainly know the feelings you mentioned.
Couldn't have summed up the loud urge any better myself. Very nice notes and some awesome kicking tracks.
cool shit.
