After Australia, perhaps in reaction, I drenched myself in British Folk Music...a genre that I had previously ignored and labelled under Jugs O'ale...if u ain't heard her Sandy Denny can and will break your heart, Linda Thompson is truly magnificent.....Nick Drake everyone knows....Steelye Span at times sounded like The Velvet Underground...June Tabor kind of rocks..Mary Coughlan is a great interpreter...Richard Thompson is a great axe-player, great writer...Jake Thackray is one of England's most underated writers and is not only funny but deeply moving....Annie Briggs a beautiful recluse...as is Vashti Bunyan
