I know that some of these bands (I'm thinking of The Ataris when I say this) are sort of looked down on by elitists, but this is a tape for a friend who hasn't heard emo before and is interested in getting a taste.then, after a few hours and a lot of comments, i changed the title from "this is emo" to "this is not emo" because i was tired of having my choices questioned. :P

normally i'd object to ozma being called emo, but if you listen to their new record, maybe you'd be inclined to call them that. battlescars is a pretty emo song, in any event.
by giving her this mix, i think that makes you responsible for cleaning the blood out of the sink after she slits her wrists.

I maintain that Death Cab is emo-core, which isn't really emo.
I must admit that I don't know much about "emo" music. I have no idea what emo-core is. But when I listen to Death Cab and even The Postal Service, I get very emotional. No matter if people think this is emo or not, I like it... and I would challange any of these nay-sayers to define emo for me.

emo, to me, is any song that can cause a stir of emotion inside you. but really, im not one for "labeling" bands. or whatever. its all just beautiful music.
