I was sitting in the pub with some friends and we were bemoaning how come there are no decent coffee shops in England, so we decided to open one ourselves. Of course, we are still trying to raise the thousands of pounds necesary to do this, but we did decide on the musical vibe we would have. And this is the tape! A mix of beat poetry, trad jazz, melancholy piano songs and moody film music. Despite the odd array of artists, the tape hangs together really well, creating a good vibe. My friend Rich thought of the name "Maguffins" for the place, hense the title of the tape. I've used Hopper's Automat for the cover to get that lonely coffeeshop feel. This is my second submission, my NAM tape is in the theme section for Fenruary and I'm into trading, so drop me an email. JM in London
