Comment:
The only drawback to grandiose pop is you can't get much more than 10 songs per side on a 90 min. tape. Normally, I average 11-13 songs per tape, so... For those scoring at home, you may notice I seem to eschew the Sun period of Elvis and I swear, I do love those sides, but I have a sweet tooth for the Chips Moman/ American Studios sessions. Suspicious Minds/ I'm Movin On/ Long Black Limo-- this is some of the most amazing and singular pop in the whole freakin canon!Feedback:
Massive Attack seldom make my mixes because I prefer shorter songs that allow me more songs on a mix. Great pick though. And that Beatles chunk sure does take up a lot of space but it's worth it.
this mix is absolutely lovely! oh lord. wow. and I'm just throwing some love your way, as per your request (at least, that's how I took it to be) from the message you posted on the discussion forum. NYC is one of my favorite songs of the past year, and surely a fantastic opener.
Wow, good Eno Pick, and that Dire Straits is one of their best...if you're really lookin' to take up space with Dire Straits, try out "Telegraph Road"...that's a good 15 minutes!
This is awesome - don't know how I missed it the first time. Nice and ambitious. :-)
