Comment:
"There was this Robert Mitchum movie, it was about moonshine runners down South. I never saw the movie, I only saw the poster in the lobby of the theatre. I took the title and I wrote this song...."--Bruce, Passaic, NJ, (October, 1978)
The first question will likely be, why would anyone want to listen to four versions of Thunder Road in eighty minutes? Well, they're very different versions and besides, Thunder Road is simply one of the greatest rock 'n' roll songs ever written.

Feedback:
Wow! You're right on the mark Chapbell. Also the most romantic rock and roll song since the protaganist isn't hung up on some pie in the sky beauty, he accepts Mary the way she is. If I could go on a stage and play one song with a great band, Thunder Road would be it. The version from September 1978 when Bruce tells the Robert Mitchum story is (IMHO) one of the greatest performances in the history of recorded sound!!! The song has all the passion and freedom and youthful optimism of the greatest rock songs rolled into one song, cooked down and shot right into your veins. Great artists and songs chosen to compliment the four versions found here as well. Great work!!!
Yeah, this looks hella-cool! Just like Bob Mitchum and just like the movie (although it is a little over the top or something) ... would love to hear this. Fancy a trade?
For any of you browsers who come across this mix, it's really dyn-o-mite. One of my favorite trades so far!
Yup....excellent, too!
"Tweeter & The Monkey Man" by Traveling Wilburys would have been the cherry on top. "It was out on Thunder Road, Tweeter at the wheel..."
