Feedback:
blue skies! that song makes me tingly!! and i didn't know ocean blue covered the smiths. very curious. stupenderiferous mix!
the first time i heard kirsty maccoll
sing the smiths"you
haven't earned it yet, baby" and "angel" i was captivated(swoon) &
her own version of "they don't know"
is just as good as tracey's version.
such a bloody shame she passed away...
and shellyan orphan's "helleborine"(did i get that right)...was fantastic. oh if i remember right david was obsessed with aztec camera and the smiths(and railway children)...
and there were more bands david was into
(mostly go-betweens,
early every thing but the girl)...you know the usual jingle jangle stuff.
i remember when steve(keyboard & sax) left ocean blue
and iasked why he left and his reply was "creative differences"(bloody typical). the real reason was because david was a "jesus fraek" and didn't like that fact that
steve was gay!?
as it turned out steve ended up working for sire as an a & r rep at sire the same label that dropped them from their active roster with the throwing muses...the end result was steve got his revenge.
with that monsieur
don i take leave of you...wanna trade mixed tapes? let me know.
